UGC to allow students to pursue two full-time degree programmes simultaneously in physical mode: Chairman Jagadesh Kumar
— Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) April 12, 2022
With this decision of UGC, students will get an opportunity to study multiple subjects from different faculties in the same or other institutions. Jagadesh Kumar also pointed out that it is not mandatory for any university to adopt these guidelines, but he is hoping that more and more institutions will allow students to pursue two degrees simultaneously. The Chairman said that these guidelines would be sent to the universities and statutory bodies, after which they would be free to adopt them in their own way. Whereas in online mode there will be unlimited seats and there will be no pressure on the university. No entrance exam will be necessary for an online degree.

UGC Chairman said that both physical and online modes are important. We believe that for physical we admit only 4-5 percent of the students due to limited seats. But with the new guidelines, universities will be able to get more rights. New options will be available for the same students.
